A Chisenhale Dance Space commission.  A work was choreographer entirely over the internet.  The dancers knew nothing other than their role within the preformance until they walked on stage.

Remote Control

An exploration of the events surrounding the infamous religious cult, The Nine O’clock service, in Sheffield. Me, Verity and Jo with music again by Rupert Till. Not sure about the lime green tops.

Chiaroscuro

Dark and moody lighting, we were all pretty moody making it. It was bloody hard work to get to the end of it as it was like one of those fitness tests that gets faster and faster!

Optical Nerve

A collection of three works for tour, Remote Control, Chiaroscuro and Molotov Cocktail.

Molotov Cocktail

Green costumes later replaced by normal clothes. Nigel charnock and the great Richard Hurford were wonderful at getting us to stretch ourselves and push the performance. Just the three of us now, numbers of company was usually dictated by funding. Rupert produced the music again which includes a memorable ‘a la zumba’ song.

Impact

Same company members, music this time by Rupert Till along with pinapple talking and sqeaking.  From what I remember the first section was only ever performed at Chisenhale but we kept hitting the roof, pretty usual stuff for Chisenhale.  Still don’t think people really got what we were doing.

Clandestine

Two becomes Five. Joined by Jess, Jo and Mel. The Laggs, a very unsuccessful band, are trapped in their venue which leads to some very strange behaviour. Rope bars, mini doors, sandman, people in purple bags on moors etc…

Wellibeat

Wellies, drawing pins, milk bottles, dried flowers and flagilation.

Pedal to the Metal

Everything and anything to do with driving, especially the bit where you close your eyes on an empty motorway and see how far you can go before you open them again.

A considerably confusing state of affairs within a human nightmare.

Made after Whoopee Flop for inclusion in an evening at The Place.  Nightmarish twitches and scritches, fights with bees and finishing with a bit of S&M.
